Sacred Heart Academy school-wide water conservation efforts

EVERY FIVE PEOPLE GETTING HELP IS A VETERAN. 3 A SCHOOL-WIDE WATER CONSERVATION INITIATIVE IS UNDERWAY HERE IN CONNECTICUT. ALL THIS COMES- AS THE STATE EXPERIENCES A SEVERE DROUGHT. STUDENTS FROM SACRED HEART ACADEMY IN HAMDEN- KICKING OFF THE ‘EVERY DROP COUNTS-HEARTS FOR H-20’ INITIATIVE WEEK WITH A SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST. STUDENTS ARE SHARING POSTS, PHOTOS AND HASHTAGS ON WATER CONSERVATION. THIS IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY. THIS MORNING-THEY GAVE AN UPDATE ON THE CURRENT SITUATION. RESERVOIRS RIGHT NOW WE ARE ABOUT 68 PERCENT FULL WHERE WE ARE NORMALLY AT 91 PERCENT SO WE’RE NERVOUS. POWELL SAYS SHE HASN’T SEEN A DROUGHT THIS SEVERE SINCE 2002.
