Cheer Leadership Tip #49 Listening Long Snap (Employee Retention)

January 8, 2020

Jan Spence, Chief Encouragement Officer,
Tip 49 The Listening Long Snap. In the busyness of the day, so often we run
around telling people what we need. We’re sending emails, we’re barking orders and
rarely do we take the time to listen. You’ve heard this before, but there’s a
reason that God gave us, well, two ears and one mouth. This week use this simple
tip and just be intentional about listening to your co-workers. Not only
what’s being said, but what is not being said. Hear them, reflect back and say, “You
know what, Juanita? It sounds like you’re really, really
stressed about this project and there’s a little confusion. Let’s take some time.
Let’s sort this through and let me help you out.” Listen for what’s being said, but
also what’s not being said – a powerful tool for employee loyalty. Remember, folks,
behavior is contagious and this week it’s your turn to “Cheer on Your Team!”
